How to Resize a Profile Picture for Social Platforms
Profile pictures are usually uploaded as square files even when the interface displays them as circles. The safest workflow is to keep the important subject centered and export platform-specific square variants.

Circular display masks cut off corners. Keep faces, logos and text away from the square edges so the same source survives different platform masks.
Generate several sizes together
